Mumbai Indians won the first match of the DLF IPL against Chennai Superkings. Sachin Tendulkar won the man of the match award for his match winning unbeaten half century. Mumbai Indians was put into bat and after losing some early wickets, pulled up heir socks and got to 165/7 in 20 overs. Abhishek Nayyar palyed a crucial knock scoring 22 runs in one single over.

Chennai Superkings in reply lost early wickets and even after some good knocks from Matthew Hayden and Dhoni they lost the match by 20 runs.
