After VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid, it's now the turn of Sourav Ganguly to be sacked as captain in the Indian Premier League.Putting all speculation into rest, Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders appointed New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum as captain of the team.
McCullum will replace Sourav Ganguly for the second edition of the tournament, which kicks-off in Cape Town on Saturday.

Now, it means that McCullum will go out for the toss while Sourav Ganguly, who was expecting to stay on as captain, will only have a senior management role along with Chris Gayle. The radical four-captain theory proposed by John Buchanan, the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has the backing of one of its star players, Gayle, who said the theory is worth trying out.

Ganguly openly opposed the idea saying, "Tomorrow I can ask for four different coaches and will they have it my way".But,team owner, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan felt the proposal should be given a chance and said he would rather try and fail.

McCullum, the swashbuckling New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman, was the front runner to get the job.
