May 15,2008,Delhi.Amit Mishra bowled a tight spell and also took the hat-trick(second in IPL) to ensure a win for Delhi Daredevils against Deccan Chargers here at Ferozshkotla.Gilchrist won the toss and decided to bowl first.Virender Sehwag failed once again with he bat.He fell in the first over of the match.Shikar Dhawan and Gautam Gambhir shared a vital second wicket partnership which swings the way to Delhi's way.RP singh was once again not looking good with the ball.Most of the ball pitched short and put away by Gambhir.Gambhir,the leading run scorer in the tournament carried on his fine touch and got out for 79.Dilshan and Maharoof gave some massive blows towards the end.Shikar Dhawan remained unbeaten on 68.Delhi set a target of 195 for Chargers.Chargers begin with new opening pair of Gilchrist and Afridi.That move seems to be right but Gilchrist fell to Mcgrath early ,brilliantly caught by Dilshan at mid-off.Afridi played some massive strokes,He and Gibbs share quick runs.After 6 overs,they were 71 for 1.Amit Mishra came in and took Afridi wicket in first ball.In the next over,he bowled Gibbs.Run Rate keeps on climbing,Rohit Sharma steadied the innings but fell soon.Venugopal Rao played some blistering strokes but eventually caught at long off.Dramatic climax awaited as Chargers need 15 off the last over.Mishra bowled the last over and took hat-trick and Delhi ensured a 14 run win.Mishra was named Man of the Match.
